Rain, sweet rain.

I woke this morning to the rain falling softly outside, giving the ground a much needed long deep soak. The local farmers will be happy.  It's been a dry start to the season and many have held off seeding, or been forced to stop part way through.  Our garden will also appreciate the rain, and the boys will appreciate a muddy playground over the coming weekend no doubt.

We are tucked up in the old cottage, Aggie in her basket near the crackling fire. Henry quietly playing duplo. Me with my books spread on the table working on my final assignment after a bought of bronchitis. I'm not over it yet, but I am feeling a little clearer in my head, and not quite so tired.  All is well and snug in my little world. How about you?

Two cats who know where the quietest spots in the house are!

Much love,
Emma

  1. Isn't the rain lovely! It's been raining here too and the garden has had a really good drink and our tanks are full again:) Hope you keep on feeling better each day, Emma. Bronchitis is not much fun. Meg

    1. Ys it was, hopefully there is some follow up over the next couple of weeks. As long as there is a break and some sunshine today - my washing line is full and its all dripping after being caught out! haha!

The sun is just begining to rise now, and so far from the little I can see from my kitchen window that patch of sky looks clear.

  3. Sounds cosy to me. Our son just came home from two nights with Nan and Pop with Mum's blanket wrapped around him for warmth. We all love our 'cosy' here.
All the best for your recovery Emma xx.

  4. We haven't had rain since Cyclone Debbie and were in real need of it. This week has seen showers everyday. This is the week that I have been trying to get the caravan packed to head off on a road trip. All the associated washing has been drying, oh so slowly, on the veranda. I am hoping to have it all dry and packed away by then end of today. I need to as we leave tomorrow.
I'm glad to hear you are feeling a little better. This is a very sweet post. Take care, enjoy the rain and the associated play of little boys attracted magnetically to mud.

  5. I'm a bit sick of the rain to be honest. It's been raining for most of the last fortnight on this side of the country and everything is just damp, even the paper in the printer feels funny. Glad you're enjoying your bit of the wet stuff though especially if you've had a dry spell. Unfortunately we're currently having an extremely wet year, March was the wettest it's been in about 15yrs apparently and I heard recently that it's already being considered a wet winter. I think I'll invest in some gum boots.
Hey, final assignment...woohoo!! Is that for the semester or final final one?

  6. I hope you get much better soon, Emma. It is not nice being sick when you have little children not that it is nice to be sick any time of course. I just love your doggie...just like Rhonda's Gracie that I met last year. She is a twerp.
